Yes, she's free!
Oh... and by the way before I forget to mention, my little girl is enjoying her second night WITHOUT her brace! We're so delighted its all gone so well for her. She's coped brilliantly, and we're so proud of her. She wriggled all the way from the bottom of her cot right to the top, leaving all her blankets behind, and getting her head squashed in the corner at the top, but her little smile said "look at me mom, I can do this!" It was like her freedom march wriggle or something - really cute.
Anyway - definitely worth a mention y'all!

I'm still here...
... but really busy. Its manic! I haven't even had a second to read your blogs and catch up on whats going on with ye all. I'm so sorry - I'll try to do better in future.
God, why is my kitchen floor so gross? Priorities, people, please.

Doing pretty well actually
Can I just tell you all about how proud I am of myself since going back to work?!
Even though I was DREADING it, I feel I'm coping pretty well. Missy moo is settling in to the creche quite well, although she is rebelling when she gets home, but I can deal with that. She's cutting a few teeth (she now has 4 - with a fifth about to cut), and has a chesty cough and a very sore bum to boot. So its completely understandable that she's a bit cranky once she gets home to her mom - I'm her comfort zone afterall. But she's loving her new friends and all the wonderful activities that she gets to enjoy every day. Her carers are lovely people, who genuinely seem to care very much about her, so my confidence in the situation is growing day by day.
I still miss her like crazy though, and I don't think that will ever change.
But work is definitely different - well I see it differently to be precise. It is a means to an end. It gives us a little more security than just one income - and with a family to look after, those things are important. But work itself is not important. I don't fret if something goes wrong, I don't get stressed if deadlines are pressing, and I just don't listen when people are bitching and moaning about every little thing. I just go in and do a good days work. I am conscientious, honest and hard working, and I do a good job. I know that because they were delighted to have me back. And if I have a bad day - so be it. Once I leave that office, all I care about is getting to the creche to collect my little sweetheart.
Who, by the way, is getting cuter and cuter every day! She lets out this little squeal of delight as soon as she sees me coming to get her! Then she actually hugs me with her tiny arms around my neck and plants big sloppy kisses on my face - seriously! They're the best moments of my day and I am truly lucky.

Happy weekend, world!
What I love about weekends:
1. Even though I don't get to choose what time I get out of bed, I can choose when I get dressed!
2. I get to make leisurely breakfast and sip cups of tea before the rest of the world wakes up.
3. We bring our daughter swimming every Saturday afternoon (check out www.waterbabies.ie for info, its really amazing).
4. We enjoy quality family hours together eating, chatting and playing with our gorgeous little girl.
5. We may even get to share time with friends!
6. We catch up with our own gossip.
7. If its a nice day we get to enjoy it, instead of looking at it through the office window.
8. Sometimes, I might even get to take an afternoon nap!
9. I have time to make healthy food that I love.
10. But most of all its because the weekend is my two whole days each week that I get to spend with the people I love most.
